Landscape Change

A couple of years ago  Melinda Appleby wanted to make a film about the River Dove in Suffolk. As part of her research she came across  a very interesting poet James Turner and his book 'The Rivers of East Anglia' written in 1954. A very dreamy little book which takes you back in time to a very different landscape. We made the film and  here it is.

When James Turner wrote his book  he could walk all along the river. Now you have to hunt it down as it flows through culverts and through inaccessible fields. So making this film made me start thinking about how  the landscape is changing and about how inaccessible most of it is.
